Once I had a preschooler who had a hard time waking up from his naps. But he loved tigers. Specifically orange tigers. Once, when we were making up songs together he had one quick line about an "orange tiger flying." From that day on I'd help him up from his nap and through his transition outside to the playground by telling him about the amazing tiger pilot. The song came soon after, and practically wrote itself in one night at the piano.

Found a plane and learned to fly it

He left his jungle
Jungle home
And flew toward the sun that shone

Searching for something new
To do

Flew out into the blue

After some roaring
Tiger Pilot did some exploring

Invited his friends on board

Danced on the sand
They had a party for all of the friends

Beneath Palm Trees
But all parties have to end
Eventually

So Tiger Pilot
And all of his friends flew home
Across the sea.

And the 5 day
Party on Tiger Island went down
In History.
